Sep 4 / The BALD BULL

Friday September 4, 2026

The GET F.R.E.E. Weekend Report is your market debrief for people who refuse to let Wall Street run laps around their paycheck. Every week, we break down the real moves that mattered: index performance, sector rotation, key NASDAQ tech trades, earnings shocks, Fed drama, inflation signals, oil spikes, rate moves, political curveballs, and the catalysts that could set next week on fire. The goal is simple: read the tape, build your Wealth Operating System, put your money to work, and Make More. Live F.R.E.E.

The Question

What happens when the economy creates almost three times as many jobs as Wall Street expected—and the market realizes the Fed may have permission to hike again?

The F.R.E.E. Answer™

August payrolls increased by 162,000, versus roughly 56,000 expected, while unemployment held at 4.1%. That resilience pushed Treasury yields higher and lifted market pricing for a September Fed hike. The S&P 500 fell 0.38% Friday, the Nasdaq 0.29%, and the Dow 0.51%. Yet underneath the indexes, AI infrastructure and memory stocks continued producing extraordinary dispersion.

The lesson?

GOOD NEWS ISN'T BULLISH OR BEARISH.

GOOD NEWS IS INFORMATION.

PRICE TELLS YOU WHAT IT MEANS.™

THE ECONOMY...
DIDN'T GET THE FED MEMO

Wall Street spent the week debating whether monetary policy could finally become friendlier.

Then Friday morning arrived.

162,000 jobs.

Not 56,000.

Not another deteriorating labor report.

A labor-market surprise almost 3× consensus!

Unemployment remained 4.1%, and labor-force participation increased to 61.6%.

The bond market understood the implication immediately.

The 2-year Treasury yield climbed to 4.37%, stocks retreated, and Fed-funds futures moved toward roughly a 59% probability of a September hike.

Dow53,414.25 / -0.51%-0.3%
Russell 20002,975.65 / +0.2%+0.1%

But those numbers hide the week's real story.

Dell Technologies
exploded after AI-server earnings.

Snowflake
surged nearly 25% after AI demand accelerated growth.

Memory stocks ripped Friday.

And Lululemon Athletica collapsed roughly 18% after another guidance cut.

THE BALD BULL READ™

The indexes basically went nowhere.

Meanwhile individual stocks behaved like somebody put espresso in the Bloomberg terminal.

That's dispersion.

And dispersion is exactly why traders who only stare at SPY are watching the movie through the theater exit sign.

THE INDEX WAS QUIET.
THE MARKET WASN'T.

This week's internals tell a more interesting story than the headline indexes.

U.S. equity funds experienced approximately $11.12 billion of net outflows through September 2. Technology funds alone lost roughly $1.39 billion, while money-market funds attracted almost $48.8 billion.

Translation:

Capital hasn't disappeared.

CAPITAL IS BECOMING SELECTIVE.

Meanwhile, AI earnings kept forcing money into individual winners.

Dell.

Snowflake.

Memory.

Semiconductors.

That's not indiscriminate risk-on.

CRYPTO PULSE™: RISK-ON → FRIDAY MACRO CHECK

Crypto delivered one of the week's cleanest Pin Action™ moves Thursday. Bitcoin reclaimed $80,000, closing around $81,491, and the move quickly spread through miners, treasury proxies, exchanges and stablecoin infrastructure.

Thursday's gains were broad enough to matter: Coinbase, Circle, Strategy and miners all participated rather than Bitcoin moving alone.

THE BALD BULL READ™

Bitcoin wasn't the trade. Bitcoin was the catalyst.

This was Crypto Breadth™: BTC moved, then capital spilled into the companies that monetize, hold, mine and facilitate digital assets. Friday's hot jobs report provided the gut check, pushing rate-hike expectations higher and pressuring Bitcoin and crypto-linked equities—another reminder that crypto may trade 24/7, but it still answers to the price of money.

Washington is also becoming a real catalyst. The SEC says durable market-structure legislation remains important and continues to support getting the CLARITY Act to President Trump's desk; September 15 is expected to be an important procedural test.

NOW WHAT?™

Watch the confirmation chain next week:

BTC $80K → MSTR → MINERS → COIN/CRCL → CRYPTO BREADTH™

If Bitcoin holds and the proxies confirm, the risk-on trade remains alive. If BTC loses the breakout and miners lead lower, don't marry the narrative.

WEEK 36
August 31–September 4, 2026

1. JOBS — THE FED JUST GOT PERMISSION

WHAT?
August nonfarm payrolls increased 162,000, crushing the roughly 56,000 consensus estimate. Unemployment held at 4.1%.

SO WHAT?
Wall Street spent the week wondering whether the economy was weakening enough to keep the Fed restrained.

Friday answered: not so fast.

The 2-year Treasury yield jumped toward 4.38%, the 10-year reached roughly 4.78%, and fed-funds futures moved to roughly a 57% probability of a September hike by Friday.

Gekko Read: The market wanted a Goldilocks jobs report. It got Goldilocks after three espressos. Good economic news becomes uncomfortable market news when the Fed is looking for permission to tighten.

NOW WHAT?

Next week's money chain:

PPI → CPI → YIELDS → FED → QQQ

2. DELL — AI SERVERS JUST DROPPED THE RECEIPT

WHAT?
Dell delivered a monster quarter: $47.0 billion revenue, +58% YoY, including $16.4 billion of AI-server revenue. It booked $60.9 billion of AI-server orders, exited with a $95 billion backlog, and raised FY27 revenue guidance by $25 billion to $192 billion.

SO WHAT?
This matters beyond Dell.

AI demand is traveling through the infrastructure stack:

GPU → SERVER → NETWORKING → MEMORY → STORAGE → POWER.

That's precisely what Pin Action™ is designed to identify.

Gekko Read: Wall Street loves arguing whether AI is a bubble. Dell just showed up carrying a $95 billion backlog. Narratives are cute. Purchase orders are better.

NOW WHAT?

Follow the money:

NVDA → DELL → SMCI/HPE → NETWORKING → MEMORY → POWER

3. SNOWFLAKE — AI MOVES UP THE STACK

WHAT?
Snowflake's Week 36 earnings became an important second-stage AI catalyst, pushing attention beyond chips and physical infrastructure toward the data and software consumption layer. Snowflake reported its fiscal Q2 results after Wednesday's close.

SO WHAT?

This is the evolution of the AI trade:

CHIPS → COMPUTE → INFRASTRUCTURE → DATA → SOFTWARE → AGENTS

The important question isn't whether AI survives after the semiconductor trade.

It's:

Where does the money rotate next?

Gekko Read: The amateur watches the stock that already went up. The Operator watches where the spending goes next. Chips built the highway. Snowflake wants to collect tolls from the traffic.

NOW WHAT?

Watch for AI Pin Action™ moving higher through the stack:

AI INFRASTRUCTURE → DATA → CLOUD → SOFTWARE → AGENTIC AI

4. LULULEMON — BRAND EQUITY DOESN'T PAY THE BILL FOREVER

WHAT?
Lululemon cut its 2026 outlook again. It now expects annual revenue of only $10.35–$10.50 billion, representing a 5%–7% decline, while Q3 revenue is expected to fall 10%–11%.

SO WHAT?
This wasn't merely a LULU problem.

It was another reminder that premium valuation + weakening demand = very little room for disappointment.

Great brands can command premium multiples.

They cannot repeal gravity.

Gekko Read: A logo isn't a moat when the customer stops reaching for the wallet. Eventually Wall Street quits buying the lifestyle and starts reading the income statement.

NOW WHAT?

Watch whether the earnings gap becomes:

CAPITULATION → BASE → REVERSAL

or

BREAKDOWN → DEAD CAT → LOWER LOW

5. BONDS — THE REAL BOSS BATTLE

WHAT?
The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield pushed toward 4.8%, while the selloff extended globally. Reuters highlighted persistent inflation, government deficits and the enormous financing requirements associated with the AI investment boom as contributors to pressure across global bond markets.

SO WHAT?
This may be the most important catalyst of all five.

Every stock competes against the risk-free rate.

Higher yields raise financing costs, increase discount rates and force investors to demand more earnings growth to justify expensive equity valuations.

That's particularly important for long-duration growth stocks.

Gekko Read: Everybody wants to talk about AI, earnings and the next ten-bagger. Meanwhile the bond market is sitting quietly in the corner deciding what every asset on Earth should cost.

NOW WHAT?

Don't just watch QQQ.

Watch:

2Y → 10Y → DXY → VIX → QQQ → SOXX → BREADTH

Because this week delivered the reminder traders eventually learn the expensive way:

WATCH THE PRICE OF MONEY.™

THE BALD BULL WEEK 36 READ™

Week 36 wasn't five disconnected headlines.

It was one story about the price and destination of capital.

Jobs strengthened the Fed's hand. →

Bonds raised the price of money. →

Dell proved AI infrastructure spending remains enormous. →

Snowflake showed AI monetization migrating toward software. →

Lululemon demonstrated what happens when expectations collide with deteriorating fundamentals.

That's the market in 3D.

CATALYST → CAPITAL → ROTATION → REACTION

Don't predict which headline Wall Street will love.

Watch where Wall Street sends the money after the headline hits.™

TOP 5 TRADES OF THE WEEK™

WEEK 36 | August 31–September 4, 2026

CATALYSTS CREATE MOVES.
EXPECTATIONS CREATE REACTIONS.™

Week 36 was almost a textbook demonstration of Trade the Reaction™.

Snowflake showed what happens when AI expectations get beaten. Dell showed the AI infrastructure spending cycle still has teeth.

Lululemon showed what happens when a premium narrative collides with deteriorating fundamentals.

Crypto proxies exploded as Bitcoin reclaimed $80K.

And Tesla may have given us the cleanest lesson of the week: buy the anticipation, trade the disappointment.

1. SNOW — THE AI SOFTWARE REPRICING™

Snowflake surged 16.6% Thursday to $356.47 after Q2 product revenue reached approximately $1.49 billion, +37% YoY, and management raised its FY product-revenue growth outlook to 36%.

WHAT?

AI enthusiasm moved up the technology stack.

This wasn't another semiconductor trade. Investors rewarded accelerating consumption and the potential monetization of enterprise AI through the data layer.

SO WHAT?

That's AI Pin Action™:

GPU → COMPUTE → DATA → SOFTWARE → AGENTS

The trade showed that capital isn't abandoning AI. It's looking for the next place AI spending becomes revenue.

NOW WHAT?

Don't automatically chase the earnings candle.

Watch whether SNOW can:

HOLD THE GAP → BUILD A BASE → CONFIRM VOLUME → CONTINUE

or whether the earnings move turns into profit-taking.

Thursday and Friday's price action gave a nice fade trade into the gap.
Keep the stock on watch to see if it fills the gap into more September weakness.

2. DELL — THE AI INFRASTRUCTURE RECEIPT™

Dell gave traders another confirmation that AI infrastructure spending remains enormous.

The important Week 36 numbers were extraordinary:

$47B revenue → $16.4B AI-server revenue → $60.9B AI-server orders → $95B backlog → $192B FY revenue guidance.

WHAT?

The market received hard evidence that AI capital expenditures are moving beyond GPU manufacturers and into the physical infrastructure required to deploy those GPUs.

SO WHAT?

This is classic Pin Action™.

NVIDIA supplies the accelerators.

But somebody still needs to:

BUILD → CONNECT → COOL → POWER → STORE

the machines.

NOW WHAT?

3. LULU — THE PREMIUM BRAND BREAKDOWN™

Lululemon became Friday's lesson in what happens when premium valuation meets deteriorating expectations.

Q2 revenue came in around $2.42 billion, comparable sales fell 9%, Americas comps declined 12%, and management cut its FY2026 revenue outlook to $10.35–$10.50 billion. Shares were indicated down roughly 19% before the open and ultimately suffered one of Friday's largest high-profile declines.

WHAT?

Weakening demand + another guidance cut = violent repricing.

SO WHAT?

Wall Street doesn't pay yesterday's multiple for tomorrow's deteriorating business.

That's the Expectations Gap™.

5. TSLA — THE CYBERCAB EXPECTATIONS FADE™

This replaces AVGO.

And from a teaching standpoint, I think it's a significantly better Week 36 trade.

Tesla rallied 7.22% Thursday as anticipation built around Cybercab.

Then reality arrived.

The actual rollout was limited to parts of Austin. Reuters reported only 45 Cybercabs registered in Texas as of Thursday, the presentation lasted roughly 15 minutes, Musk didn't attend, and questions remained about pricing and scaling.

Friday brought the second catalyst: NHTSA opened an investigation into whether Tesla properly certified Cybercab, including its lack of a steering wheel, pedals and mirrors. TSLA finished Friday down 5.92%.

WHAT?

This was a beautiful two-sided catalyst trade:

THURSDAY: ANTICIPATION ↑

FRIDAY: EXPECTATIONS ↓

The product launched.

The expectations didn't.

SO WHAT?

This is precisely why TFT doesn't teach:

GOOD NEWS = BUY

or

BAD NEWS = SELL.

The question is:

WHAT DID THE MARKET EXPECT BEFORE THE NEWS ARRIVED?

Tesla entered the event carrying enormous expectations around autonomy and robotaxis.

A limited launch plus immediate regulatory scrutiny created an Expectations Gap™.

NOW WHAT?

Watch the sequence:

HYPE → EVENT → REACTION → FAILED RECLAIM → FOLLOW-THROUGH

If Friday's breakdown is reclaimed, the fade loses credibility.

If attempted rebounds fail beneath the breakdown zone, the market is telling you the Cybercab catalyst was already priced too aggressively.

THE BALD BULL READ™

Tesla may have delivered the best TFT lesson of Week 36.

The amateur asks:

“Was Cybercab good or bad?”

The Operator asks:

“Was Cybercab better or worse than what the stock had already priced in?”

That's an entirely different question.

And it leads directly back to one of our most important rules:

TRADE THE REACTION.™ NOT THE PREDICTION.

WEEK 36 — THE FIVE TRADES, ONE LESSON

SNOW — AI moved up the stack.
DELL — AI infrastructure dropped the receipt.
LULU — fundamentals punctured premium expectations.
CRYPTO — Bitcoin created ecosystem-wide Pin Action™.
TSLA — anticipation met reality.

Five completely different trades.

One common denominator:

CATALYST → EXPECTATION → REACTION → CONFIRMATION → TRADE

That should be the Week 36 Top 5 Trades of the Week™ theme.

And TSLA gives us the perfect closing line:

The event isn't the trade. The difference between what Wall Street expected and what Wall Street got is the trade.™

WEEKEND GAME PLAN™

YOU GET THREE DAYS. USE THEM.

The U.S. stock market is closed Monday, September 7 for Labor Day. Normal trading resumes Tuesday.

That means traders receive something valuable this weekend:

TIME.

Don't spend it trying to predict Tuesday.

Spend it preparing.

Build three scenarios:

YIELDS HIGHER

→ QQQ pressure
→ valuation compression
→ financial relative strength
→ watch failed growth breakouts

YIELDS LOWER

→ duration relief
→ QQQ leadership
→ software/AI continuation

AI CONTINUES DECOUPLING

→ hunt individual catalyst trades
→ DELL/SNOW/memory ecosystem
→ ignore mediocre index action

And remember:

THE MOVE BELONGS TO THE MARKET.

THE TRADE BELONGS TO THE OPERATOR.™

You don't need the entire move.

You need the portion you're prepared, skilled and disciplined enough to capture.

WEEK #37 KEY CATALYSTS

MONDAY — SEPTEMBER 7

MARKET CLOSED — LABOR DAY

No U.S. equity session

WEDNESDAY— SEPTEMBER 9
*** APPLE EVENT - IPHONE 18

THURSDAY — SEPTEMBER 10

PPI — 8:30 AM ET

August Producer Price Index.

This is the appetizer.

PPI provides an upstream look at inflation pressure before Friday's CPI report. The scheduled release is Thursday at 8:30 AM ET

FRIDAY — SEPTEMBER 11

CPI — 8:30 AM ET

This is the heavyweight.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI schedule confirms the August CPI report for Friday, September 11 at 8:30 AM ET.

After this week's payroll surprise, the market's reaction function becomes:

HOT CPI

Jobs strong + inflation strong

→ hike probability ↑
→ yields ↑
→ growth valuation pressure

COOL CPI

Jobs strong + inflation cooling

→ soft-landing narrative improves
→ hike probability ↓
→ growth gets breathing room

That's the setup.

Not:

“Guess CPI.”

But:

KNOW WHAT YOU'LL DO WHEN CPI ANSWERS.

WEEK 37 SWOT ANALYSIS™

September 7–11, 2026
| THE PRICE OF MONEY WEEK

Week 36 ended with Wall Street getting a reminder it hates almost as much as a margin call: the economy may be too strong for the rate relief investors wanted.

That makes Week 37 less about chasing last week's winners and more about answering one question:

CAN EARNINGS OUTRUN THE PRICE OF MONEY?

STRENGTHS — THE ECONOMY REFUSES TO DIE

The bull's biggest strength is also its most annoying problem: the economy still has a pulse—and apparently it has been doing CrossFit.

August payrolls came in far stronger than expected, while Week 36's corporate results showed that capital spending hasn't disappeared. Dell's AI-server numbers reinforced the infrastructure buildout, Snowflake showed AI monetization moving into data/software, and crypto breadth demonstrated that traders will still reach for beta when the catalyst is right. That's important. This isn't a market where investors have stopped taking risk; it's a market becoming more selective about which risk deserves capital. If yields stabilize, strong earnings and AI spending give bulls plenty of ammunition for another run.

TFT READ: The bull doesn't need perfect conditions. It needs earnings growth + capital spending + enough liquidity to keep the party from getting raided by the bond cops.

WEAKNESSES — THE BOND MARKET FOUND THE AUX CORD!

The weakness is sitting right where equity traders don't like looking: Treasuries.

Friday's stronger employment report drove yields higher, with the 10-year around the upper-4% area and markets substantially repricing the path of monetary policy.

That's kryptonite for expensive long-duration growth stocks because higher risk-free rates force every future dollar of earnings to compete against a more attractive guaranteed return.

Add Lululemon's ugly repricing and Tesla's Cybercab expectations fade, and Week 36 showed that disappointment is being punished quickly.

The market isn't broken—but valuation forgiveness is getting expensive.

TFT READ:
Everybody watches QQQ until the 10-year yield walks into the room carrying a baseball bat.

Watch the price of money.™

OPPORTUNITIES — VOLATILITY ISN'T THE ENEMY. BEING CLUELESS IS.

Week 37 gives traders exactly what TFT wants: known catalysts capable of creating repricing events.

The inflation complex returns to center stage, and the important trade isn't guessing a CPI decimal before it prints. It's watching the reaction across 2Y → 10Y → DXY → QQQ → SOXX → breadth.

Meanwhile, last week's winners create secondary opportunities: SNOW can tell us whether AI software has genuine follow-through; DELL and its Pin Action™ names can reveal whether infrastructure spending continues attracting capital; Bitcoin and its equity proxies can test whether Thursday's Crypto Breadth™ was accumulation or just caffeine with a ticker symbol.

Big moves create second trades
when traders stop chasing candles and start waiting for confirmation.

TFT READ: Volatility isn't chaos when you have a framework. It's inventory.

Catalyst creates the move.
Confirmation gives you permission.
Risk management keeps you around long enough to trade the next one.

THREATS — INFLATION CAN TURN GOLDILOCKS INTO GODZILLA

The obvious threat is that strong labor + sticky inflation + rising yields becomes the combination equity bulls don't want. If upcoming inflation data surprises hotter, markets could push the expected Fed path even more hawkish, forcing another valuation reset in growth and technology.

The second threat is correlation: if yields and the dollar rise together, the pressure can migrate from individual stocks into entire high-duration sectors.

The third is positioning. After powerful AI and crypto moves, crowded trades can reverse violently when confirmation disappears. And don't ignore headline risk—from Fed communication to Washington, geopolitics and digital-asset policy. Markets don't schedule every punch before throwing it. Convenient, right?

TFT READ: The biggest danger next week isn't a red candle. It's assuming last week's playbook automatically works again.

Yesterday's EDGE can become tomorrow's liquidity donation.

THE BALD BULL WEEK #37 READ™

The setup for next week is beautifully uncomfortable.

The economy is strong enough to support earnings, but potentially strong enough to keep monetary policy restrictive. AI spending is strong enough to create leadership, but valuations still have to survive higher discount rates. Crypto has breadth, but high-beta trades need Bitcoin confirmation. And consumers haven't disappeared, but LULU reminded us they're not walking around with unlimited corporate expense accounts.

So don't reduce Week 37 to bullish or bearish.

Think in 3D:

ECONOMY →
INFLATION →
YIELDS →
LIQUIDITY →
ROTATION → PRICE

That's the battlefield.

If inflation cooperates and yields retreat, growth/AI/high-beta can breathe again.

If inflation runs hot and yields push higher, QQQ and long-duration growth have a math problem.

If indexes chop while individual catalysts continue producing huge moves?

Beautiful.

That's a stock picker's market.

WEEK 37 FREEDOM FRAMEWORK™

STRENGTH: Earnings and economic resilience.
WEAKNESS: Higher yields and unforgiving valuations.
OPPORTUNITY: CPI-driven repricing + AI/crypto Pin Action™.
THREAT: Sticky inflation creates a renewed rates shock.

And the question I'd put in a giant box at the bottom of the Weekend Report:

DON'T ASK WHERE THE MARKET SHOULD GO.

ASK WHAT THE PRICE OF MONEY WILL ALLOW IT TO DO.™

Because hope isn't a setup.

Prediction isn't confirmation.

And the bond market doesn't care how many rocket emojis your favorite stock has.

FEBRUARY 3, 2023
THE JOBS REPORT WALL STREET DIDN'T WANT

WHEN GOOD NEWS BECOMES BAD NEWS

If you want a historical day that teaches this week's lesson almost perfectly, go back to Friday, February 3, 2023.

Wall Street entered that morning hoping inflation was cooling enough for the Federal Reserve to eventually stop tightening. Then the January employment report landed.

The U.S. economy had added an astonishing 517,000 jobs, and unemployment fell to 3.4%—a more-than-50-year low.

Great news for the economy.

Potentially terrible news for anyone betting the Fed was almost finished.

The bond market understood the contradiction immediately. The 10-year Treasury yield jumped from roughly 3.40% on February 2 to 3.53% on February 3, beginning a move that ultimately carried it above 4% in early March.

That's our Market Memory.

WHAT?

THE ECONOMY REFUSED TO COOPERATE

The employment report didn't merely beat expectations. It challenged the developing narrative that the labor market was steadily cooling.

Fed Governor Christopher Waller later described the 517,000 payroll increase as “stunning” and noted that the data suggested the labor market was actually tightening rather than loosening.

The problem wasn't the jobs.

The problem was what those jobs potentially meant for:

INFLATION → FED POLICY → INTEREST RATES

This is where new traders get mugged by Econ 101.

GOOD ECONOMY ≠ AUTOMATICALLY GOOD STOCK MARKET

SO WHAT?

THE MARKET TRADED THE SECOND DERIVATIVE

Investors weren't asking:

“Are 517,000 new jobs good?”

Of course employment growth is economically constructive.

They were asking:

“What does 517,000 jobs make the FED more likely to do NEXT?”

That's the trade.

A labor market that remained exceptionally tight increased the risk of persistent wage and inflation pressures. That threatened the market's expectation for easier monetary policy.

And the sequence began:

STRONG JOBS

↓

STICKIER INFLATION RISK

↓

HIGHER EXPECTED FED PATH

↓

TREASURY YIELDS ↑

↓

DISCOUNT RATE ↑

↓

EXPENSIVE EQUITIES GET REPRICED

Then Valentine's Day delivered another punch: January CPI showed inflation wasn't cooling as comfortably as hoped. Waller later specifically connected the strong February 3 employment report with the subsequent inflation data in explaining why the Fed's job wasn't finished.

That's when good news becomes bad news.

Not because prosperity is bad.

Because markets trade changes in expectations

NOW WHAT?

DON'T TRADE THE NUMBER.
TRADE THE CHAIN.

Week 36 just handed traders a modern version of the same puzzle.

So when next week's inflation data hits, don't stare at CPI and decide:

HOT = SHORT.

Or:

COOL = LONG.

That's first-dimensional trading.

Instead, watch:

DATA → EXPECTATIONS → 2Y → 10Y → DXY → LIQUIDITY → QQQ/SOXX → BREADTH

If inflation is hot but yields don't rise, that's information.

If inflation is cool but QQQ can't rally, that's information.

If yields spike but semiconductors hold, that's information.

If the indexes look fine but breadth collapses, that's information.

The reaction tells you what the market had already priced in.

THE BALD BULL MARKET MEMORY™

February 3, 2023 teaches a lesson worth remembering in Week 37:

The headline isn't the trade.

The economic number isn't even necessarily the trade.

THE CHANGE IN EXPECTATIONS IS THE TRADE.™

A number can be objectively good for the economy and simultaneously bearish for stocks because it changes the expected price of money.

That's why the right question is never simply:

“Was the number good?”

It's:

“GOOD RELATIVE TO WHAT?”

Good relative to recession risk?

Bullish.

Good relative to the Fed's inflation fight?

Potentially bearish.

Good relative to expectations?

Maybe.

Already priced in?

Now we have an entirely different trade.

Markets don't repeat perfectly.

THEY RHYME.

The numbers change.

The Fed changes.

The companies change.

The tickers change.

But the mechanism remains remarkably familiar:

DATA → EXPECTATIONS → RATES → LIQUIDITY → PRICE

MARKET MEMORY™ LESSON:

Learn the mechanism.
Stop memorizing the headline.™

“The market pays you for being right… but only after it tests your patience.”
— Ed Seykota

GOOD NEWS CAN MAKE STOCKS FALL

New traders often believe:

Good economic news = stocks rise.

Bad economic news = stocks fall.

Friday demonstrated why that mental model fails.

The economy added far more jobs than expected.

That's objectively positive for economic activity.

Yet stocks fell.

Why?

Because markets don't price headlines in isolation.

They price second-order consequences.

Strong jobs:

→ stronger economy
→ less need for easing
→ greater possibility of tightening
→ higher yields
→ higher discount rates
→ lower present value for long-duration assets

FREEDOM FACT™

The market doesn't trade whether news is good or bad.

IT TRADES WHAT THE NEWS CHANGES.™

That's seeing the market in 3D.

“The big money is not in
the buying or selling,
but in the waiting.”
| Jesse Livermor
e

“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
|James 1:3–4 (KJV)

HOW STRONG IS YOUR RESOLVE?

Everybody has discipline when the trade is green.

Everybody trusts the system after three winners.

Everybody says:

“I follow my stops.”

Until the stop arrives.

That's when the market asks the question that matters:

DO YOU BELIEVE YOUR RULES MORE THAN YOUR FEELINGS?

Will you take the stop?

Will you miss the trade without chasing?

Will you sit in cash when there isn't an EDGE?

Will you let another trader win without abandoning your process?

Will you execute your plan when your ego desperately wants a different answer?

Because the market doesn't merely test your strategy.

IT TESTS THE OPERATOR.

And that's where James 1 fits perfectly.

A test doesn't necessarily reveal whether your strategy works.

Sometimes it reveals whether you will work the strategy when doing so becomes uncomfortable.

Your Financial Flywheel™ doesn't compound intentions.

IT COMPOUNDS DECISIONS.

Every stop honored.

Every FOMO trade avoided.

Every No Trade Zone™ respected.

Every setup rejected because it didn't have an E.D.G.E.™

Every time you choose process over emotion—

you are strengthening the Operator.

THE BALD BULL READ™

Anybody can write rules on Sunday.

Resolve is following them on Tuesday when your P&L, ego and adrenaline are holding a three-person intervention begging you to do something stupid.

That's why discipline isn't proven by what you intend to do.

DISCIPLINE IS PROVEN WHEN THE TEST ARRIVES.

WEEKEND GUT CHECK

When the opportunity finally arrives, will your resolve be strong enough to execute what your discipline prepared you to do?

TEST YOUR RESOLVE.™

COURAGE IS CHEAPER THAN REGRET.

THE TEST DOESN'T CREATE THE OPERATOR.
IT REVEALS THE OPERATOR.

NEXT WEEK...
DOESN'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK CPI WILL BE

The market gave us the answer this week.

Not about inflation.

About how to trade uncertainty.

Jobs crushed expectations.

Yields moved.

The Fed probability changed.

Stocks reacted.

Dell exploded.

Snowflake repriced.

Lululemon collapsed.

Memory ripped.

Broadcom reminded traders that even spectacular numbers can disappoint spectacular expectations.

Five different trades.

One operating principle:

CATALYST → EXPECTATIONS → VOLUME → PRICE → OPPORTUNITY

Next Friday CPI will create another answer.

Someone will predict it correctly and still lose money.

Someone will predict it incorrectly and still make money.

Because trading isn't a trivia contest.

THE MOVE BELONGS TO THE MARKET.

THE TRADE BELONGS TO THE OPERATOR.

Your job isn't to catch the bottom.

Your job isn't to sell the top.

Your job is to intelligently capture the portion of the move your preparation, skill and discipline have earned.

And if there's no catalyst?

No confirmation?

No EDGE?

NO TRADE.

Because next week there will be buyers.

There will be sellers.

And there will be traders who spent Labor Day preparing absolutely nothing.

Wall Street has a technical term for those people.

LIQUIDITY.

So here's the question:

WILL YOU TRADE NEXT WEEK'S LIQUIDITY
—OR BECOME IT?

TRADE THE REACTION.™

NO E.D.G.E. = NO TRADE.™

WEALTH IS A DISCIPLINE, NOT A DESTINATION.™
